Username and password authentication enables users to log in with credentials that are unique to each individual.

You will need to set up a users app containing two single-line text fields: one for the username and one for the password.

When users visit your Mini App, they will be prompted to enter their username and password.

Upon successful login, the Podio item matching the provided username and password becomes the current reference item for the session.

Any modifications made within the Mini App are executed within Podio under the permissions of the app where the changes are being made.

Password Storage Options

  • Passwords can be stored in your Podio app in two ways:
  • Plain Text: Passwords are stored exactly as they are entered. For example, if the password is '123456', it will be stored as '123456'.
  • MD5 Hash: Passwords can also be stored in an encrypted format using MD5 hashing. For instance, if the password is '123456', it will be stored as 'e10adc3949ba59abbe56e057f20f883e' in the Podio app. This method enhances security by obscuring the actual password text.
